Okay so, serious business. John Wick: Chapter 4 is the fourth edition of the popular series with Keanu Reeves reprising the titular role. The franchise is of an American action thriller chronicling the adventures of John Wick, a former hitman, as he takes on the challenges as his old life and his new life merge together. The movie is the perfect blend of what is modern and what is myth, and the creators make sure that we know that.
While the creators have the serious cinegoers munching on the mythological references with the creators seeing him as the Greek hero, Odysseus, they have the entertainment seekers hooked with pure action packed fun. So, no one walks out of the theatre disappointed. The creators promise more fun and more action as the story goes on, but they also promise that there would be more mythological references to give the serious ones food for thought. The film is slated for release on the 24th of March, 2023, and it is expected to sweep away the box office in one fell swoop as Keanu arrives on screen.
The movies are long, I admit that. The length is definitely not what is expected from what is seen to be a crisp action thriller. However, as the creators justified, the minutes are not wasted. They are carefully packed with well choreographed action, with Keanu having picked up the moves from professional trainers from the East, creating an absolute feast for the viewers. The movie is to pick up from where the 3rd edition left off, with John Wick looking to tie up the loose ends with the High Table.
