Australian culture is not complete without the outdoors, a good old Barbie, and celebrating occasions and regular Thursdays with friends and family in town hotspots. Restaurants and bars are not only places of great cuisine and the best array of drinks, it is the venue of relationships, personal or business and countless of multi-sensory memories.
Since March 2020 the world has changed dramatically by the furious and deadly onslaught of a then-unfamiliar virus who took loved ones and freedoms away from people all over the world. Australia wasn’t exempt, and in the beautiful state of Victoria things shifted. Aspects of our daily life, our social life, our family life were suddenly turned upside down by COVID-19. And while all the changes were implemented to ensure safety and health among our citizens, it came at the cost of losing some of the most wonderful experiences we enjoy out and about in gorgeous Victoria.
Amid lockdowns and alarming reports of fatalities and infections, we all were united with a feeling of uncertainty but also hope for a return to normal.
Thankfully, with the health department and medical advisories educating and guiding us about the disease we have been able to slowly reclaim small liberties back from our previous “normal” lives.
Some businesses have managed to re-open, families have started to observe quarantining before reuniting with friends and other members of the family, and slowly, the outside world has become less and less of a scary and uncertain place. Bit by bit, we have started to gain control over the pandemic instead of the pandemic gaining control over us.
And one of the stalwart features of our great Australian culture, dining out, has gradually but joyfully returned.
The Diamond Creek Hotel family is no less than thrilled to be welcoming back guests and friends to the proudly oldest surviving pub in Diamond Creek. With our slow and steady recovery from the pandemic, we are heartened to see our already colorful history made even more impressive with our surviving and thriving dining culture here in Victoria.
From our well-loved bistros, sports and lounge bars, and rooftop terrace, we are looking forward to seeing you all back again to enjoy true Diamond Creek hospitality and customer service.
Spend your special occasions and business affairs with us, albeit with more safety, physical distancing, and hygiene precautions, and we promise you a fantastic experience with us!
Behind our magnificent heritage facade and our highly-rated bars, is also a full-service hotel where you can stay with us. Visit us on 49f Main Hurstbridge Rd Diamond Creek, on the corner of Station St. or contact us through phone at (03) 9438 1444 for any inquiries and reservations.
