The Hong Kong Sixes 2025 edition has started on November 07. This 12-team, marquee, exciting 6-over tournament is held on Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok. So far, A total of 20 editions of this tournament have been organized. The first edition of this tournament was played in 1992. Pakistan, England, and South Africa are the most successful teams of this tournament, with 5 titles. While Sri Lanka also claimed two titles. Although India, Australia, and the West Indies have won one edition so far. 


In this Hong Kong Super Six 2025 edition, A total of 12 teams are participating in this tournament. A total of 29 matches will be played throughout the tournament. The tournament consists of 12 group stage matches, 4 quarter finals, 2 semi-finals, and the final. Apart from these matches, teams that got knocked out during the group stage will compete in Bowl Matches. While Teams got knocked out during the quarter-finals will compete for the plate Matches. 


The twelve participating teams are divided into four groups. Each group consists of 3 teams. 

Afghanistan, Nepal, and South Africa were kept in group A, in which Afghanistan has already qualified for the quarter-finals. The second quarterfinalist team will be decided after the match between South Africa and Nepal. 


From Group B, Australia and England have also qualified for the quarter-finals after securing victories over the third team of their group UAE. The Australia vs UAE match ended in a no-result due to rain.


India, Pakistan, and Kuwait are kept in group C. Pakistan defeated Kuwait in the last-ball thriller, while India defeated Pakistan by 2 wickets. The two quarterfinalists of this group will be determined after the India vs Kuwait match.

Meanwhile, from Group D, Hong Kong & Bangladesh have advanced to the quarter-finals after securing victories over Sri Lanka.

The winner of each quarter-final will compete in the semi-finals. The winners of the semi-finals will compete with each other in the finals. 

Hong Kong Super Sixes Rules

In the Hong Kong Super Sixes tournament, each team fields a maximum of six players per match. Every match consists of up to six-ball overs for each side. All players on the fielding side must bowl one over each (except the wicket-keeper), with one designated bowler allowed to deliver a second over.

If five wickets fall before the fifth over is completed, the last remaining batsman continues to bat with the fifth batsman serving as a runner, and the striker always faces the bowling. The innings ends when the sixth wicket falls.

Additionally, any batsman who reaches 50 runs must retire hurt but may return to bat later if lower-order batsmen are dismissed or retire.
