As per NSDC report 2022, Logistics Industry has emerged as one of the top 5 employment generating sectors in the post-COVID economy in India. Despite of the fact, the industry is not an obvious or an aspiring choice for the prospective talent to start or continue their career into. It’s quite a Dichotomy!

It’s high time to introspect and put consolidated efforts towards transforming this perception & up our game by creating compelling reasons for the talent to align their career journey with the industry.

To improve the competitiveness of the industry, there are many institutes who are driving tailored programs on Logistics & Supply Chain Management making it an attractive career option for the students to explore and at the same time serving as an opportunity for the industry experts to interact & share their real-life insights with the students.

At Rhenus, our Leadership Team, continuously strives to change this perception by establishing the right foundation and culture for the long-term success of our employees.

We at Rhenus strongly believe that a company can’t be run with the talent who is not invested.

It’s the organizational culture that has the greatest impact on the engagement levels at the workplace. More evidently post-COVID, it’s the culture that makes a talent stick around or triggers disengagement.

As HR folks, we play a pivotal role in bringing this mindset shift across all the levels in the organization.

Let me give you a sneak peek into the Rhenus world where our VALUES form the foundation of our culture.

·      One of our core values is “Leadership”. We believe that if we need to grow, we must constantly challenge our working patterns, structures and keep evolving by adding niche skills into our functional organograms. Being Agile, is the need of the hour and we keep reinforcing this into our actions. We at Rhenus, have created examples with some key cross-functional job-rotations to amplify the business results while adding value to our employee’s growth trajectory. That’s the way we co-create win-win. Through our “Step Forward Program” we aim to bring a new wave of future leaders in the company by hiring Management Trainees from diverse backgrounds/ institutes and nurture them through a rigorous 18-month action-packed training program across Business functions.

·      Trust is the basis for almost everything we do. As a logistics service provider, we deal into delivering experiences to our customers. To gain trust of our customers, we need to know our customer’s needs like no other. As we expect this from our employees, it becomes even more crucial to create an environment of trust enabling your people to fully realize their potential. At Rhenus we encourage leaders to practice the asset of “TRUST” as one of the key elements in their leadership style and live Integrity as one of our core Values.

·      There is nothing more satiating than the magnitude of trust and sense of safety you instill into your employees by enabling them to take on more risks without feeling vulnerable. That’s what another Value “Empowerment” is all about. We are the believers that “empowered employees” are more likely to be powerful, confident & committed to meaningful goals and demonstrate initiative and creativity to achieve them. At Rhenus through our “Empowerment Awards” we encourage people to expand their horizons, take on new initiatives by laying freedom to bring out creativity & building trust that they will be valued.

·      We at Rhenus do not shy away from investing into novel ideas which may or may not turn up fruitful in the shorter or longer term. While living “Entrepreneurship”, as one of our values, we strongly believe that “if you have it in you” there is no dearth of opportunities & to your success in our organization. We stretch, we mold, we create, we advance ways & means for our employees to achieve heights in their career, be it deploying them on global assignments, cross functional trainings, horizontal growth, cross BU movements, add-on responsibilities or dedicated projects.
