The 5-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians have already qualified for the IPL 2025 playoffs, and now, they are in search of their 6th IPL trophy. They have won the IPL tournament in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020 so far. All these trophies have come under the leadership of Hitman Rohit Sharma. But is it just Rohit Sharma who has won MI all the titles? The IPL trophy can never be won by a single player, it is won by the performance of the entire team. In the history of the Mumbai Indians, many great players have played for them. For example, Sachin Tendulkar, Harbhajan Singh, Ricky Ponting, and other legendary batsmen. But do you know the players who contributed the most in the batting department for MI? In this article, we are going to learn about the players who have scored the most runs for MI in an IPL season.  

1. Sachin Tendulkar – 618(2010)

Sachin Tendulkar is the first player who become a part of the Mumbai Indians before the first season of the Indian Premier League. He captained the Mumbai Indians in 55 matches. Under the captaincy of Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, MI made it to the finals of IPL 2010. In this edition, he won the Orange Cap, where he scored 618 runs in an IPL season, which included 1 century and 4 half-centuries.

2. Suryakumar Yadav – 605(2023)

In IPL 2023, Suryakumar Yadav scored 605 runs, which is the second-highest run-scorer in an IPL season for any MI batsman. In this edition, to top these runs, he scored a century and 5 half-centuries during the tournament. His brilliant batting and team support helped the Mumbai Indians reach Qualifier 2, where they lost against the Gujarat Titans.

3. Suryakumar Yadav – 583(2025)*

In IPL 2025, Suryakumar Yadav has scored 583 runs in this IPL edition so far. He has scored 4 half-centuries so far. He is currently the third-highest run-scorer of this edition after Gujarat Titans’ Shubman Gill (601 runs) and Sai Sudharsan (617 runs). Thanks to him, MI have qualified for the playoffs and are now eyeing their sixth IPL title.

4. Sachin Tendulkar – 553(2011)

In IPL 2011, Sachin Tendulkar again scored more than 500 runs. Mumbai Indians qualified for Qualifier 2, where they lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore. Sachin was the third-highest run-scorer in that edition after RCB’s Chris Gayle (608 runs) and Virat Kohli (557 runs). He scored 553 runs during the tournament, which included a century and 2 half-centuries. During this edition, he also scored his only IPL century against Kochi Tuskers Kerala.

5. Lendl Simmons – 540(2015)

During the Mumbai Indians’ victorious campaign in 2015, Caribbean batsman Lendl Simmons played the biggest role. He scored 540 runs during the tournament. For this, he scored 6 half-centuries during the tournament, including an innings of 68 runs in the final. He played an important role in that tournament. Apart from this, Rohit Sharma’s name is also in this list, who has 538 runs to his name. Which he scored in 2013.
